Welcome to Dragons & Dice, A Dungeons and Dragons podcast where I talk about all things D & D. I go over tips for players and DM’s. I make home brewed items that you can add to your games. I make random charts for your players to roll on. And at the end of each month I do a fantasy character build out as a Dungeons and Dragons character.

The Dreaded Negative Critical chart
1) Crit your pants - You hit your self
2) Sad - Turn ends, no other movement or actions
3) Friendly Fire - You auto hit closest ally
4) Slippy - You drop your weapon, arcane focus, instrument, etc and it takes a bonus action to pick it up
5) Emotional Truama - Skip next turn
6) Rage out - Standard Melee attacks next turn
7) Over think it - Spells only next turn, skip turn if you don’t have any.
8) Stubborn - Must redo the failed actions each turn until successful
9) Over Compensate - Must use your biggest spells and as many cool downs as possible next turn
10) Fear of Failure - No action next round
11) Scared - Must use all of your movement to flee the missed target.
12) Embarrassed - Disadvantage on next save or attack, give creature advantage on saves
13) Make an excuse - If the Dm likes it nothing, if not roll twice on the chart
14) Blame Placer - Pick a party memeber, an actual PC, no summoned monsters or pets and roll on the chart for them
15) Over Worked - Can only do 1 of action/ bonus action/ movement next turn
16) Brain Pain - 1d8 psychic damage
17) Contagious - Any on the moves with in 10 ft of your or finishes a turn there must roll. This doesn’t effect enemies
18) Think it over - You can’t speak until next turn if you do reroll
19) Learn from your mistakes - Advantage next roll
20) Balance - Hit! Max Damage

In this month fantasy Dungeon and Dragons character build, I build Delila Bard from the V. E. Schwab series “A Darker Shade of Magic”. This is a must read for everybody, especially if you love fantasy books. Lila Bard is an absolute gem of a character, and one of my favorites from any series. As it turns out she makes a pretty mean DnD character too. Check out the build complete with an Antari Blood magic homebrewed item to fill out her awesome Gish abilities. On this episode of Dragons and Dice, I go ever fun, homebrewed mini games and skill challenges unique to each of the DnD classes for your home game. With the new crafting rules in the 2024 Players Hand Book (PHB) I think that games will be adding in more and more down time to let the players have the ability to make all the awesome stuff they can craft now, and what better place than in the town to add in some good ol’ homebrew. Any thing that gets those murder hobos doing more role play in Dungeons and Dragons is always a win in my book and these add ons are great for that. Enjoy!

Starting something new! Each month on Dragons and Dice I am going to build my version of a book/movie character 1-20 as if they were a Dungeons and Dragons character. For the first one I am doing my favorite, Kaladin Stormblessed from The Storm Light Archives. My theory on these builds is not going to be for optimization but to try to capture the feel and abilities of each character in a DnD setting. I am going to supplement some abilities with magic items but I am going to stick to the 3 attuned items and this episode has a particularly strong homebrewed item of the week to finish off that awesome Knight Radiant feel. I hope you all enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed making it. And if anyone has a character they would like to see me build out shoot me an email. The monster manual is out if you have the master subscription of DnD Beyond and I am so stoked about it. On this episode of Dragons and Dice I will give a broad stroke overview of how I feel about the new stat blocks and ease of use of the last of the core Dungeons and Dragons books. Spoiler I love it. I also drop my 2 cents on how much I am enjoying running the 2024 material on the D & D Beyond VTT(virtual table top). Also, as an added bonus, there is even a Ric Flare Reference in this weeks home-brewed item of the week.
